You Create and Own Yourself ~ Making Your Life What You Want It To Be

creating yourself quotes

The online blogging phenomenon has certainly caught public attention. We think, "Oh wow, they're making it--just by this cute thing they do on the side!" Just something fun and quirky. Perhaps it is just fun and quirky, but more often then not, a blog/website that has garnered serious attention didn't get there just by being cute and fun. That's only a part of it. These are people who have decided to take what they love and what they do seriously--they've made it their life's work.

I sat wondering, while doing my work, what it must be like to have a blog/website that enables you to live off of it. What that would feel like. And it occurred to me that it isn't just "a business" you own. It's owning yourself. Your passion. Your living. It's making what you love even more possible by the work and dedication you give it, and being able to represent yourself as your own powerhouse: autonomous, consistent, passionate, dedicated. And, I would hope, having the time of your life at the same time because you are literally creating yourself, your life, into what you want it to be. And making a living off of it.

I find that most inspirational--the fact that by following their own passions, and applying dedication and the willingness to earn and try new things. To take the leap. People like Nathan Buchan, Candace from The Great Affair (you can read my interview with her here), Alex from Alex in Wanderland, they make me and others believe that it's possible to do these things we dream of. To create ourselves. And inspire others.

Personally my hope is to do the same for myself. I have high goals. And I'm taking every possible way to get there. There are so many places I want to see, even after the ones I've already visited, and things I want to do.

I want you to have the courage to do what you've always wanted to do. Why not take go on that journey? We have one shot to live--let us make the most of it

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something.
