I'm Looking Forward to Autumn--And It's Raining!

Well, September is here. OH! I just looked out the window and it's RAINING! Oh yay! I love rain! Here I start writing about Autumn coming, and it's starting to rain. Now that's a timely touch. I am so excited about Autumn. I love this season. I'm still adjusting to the fact that the year is almost done, though--it has gone so quick. I've learned things, and it makes me wonder what I'll learn in the remaining months. I'm really looking forward to the fall decorating, the fall candles, the knowledge that the holidays and holiday movies/songs etc. are on their way. It's the best time of year (not to sound corny) because it is when my anticipation is climbing to it's highest.

My zinnias and wild sunflowers. Don't they look nice?

I have been taking a break from many things, trying to simplify my day. I was just worrying about too many things, trying to do too much at once. I wanted to blog on time, but really for the sake of only being on time--I realized that I didn't have anything to say that would be really worth anybody's time. I had an amusing picture (which I will add at the end, because it was amusing) but that was it--it was just a side filler. I've been doing too many filler posts. I'm tired of it. I want to provide something worthwhile. Something that genuinely makes someone consider something, or laugh out loud. I'm so tired of not giving posts of things I genuinely care about--always just filler stuff. The way I'd put it--posts that seem like the type of books you'd find on the table at the doctor's office. Old, not that good, cheap, although some entertainment. Just not really worth remembering.

Why on earth should I settle for that? So I think it's safe to say that I won't be blogging as often as I used to. I'll try to keep frequent of course--but I'm searching for the balance in my day right now, trying to finish things that need my attention (selected reading, my writing, studying).

Of the things that come to mind about material that would matter...I can only think, at present, it would be news of new things that are going on. What I'm learning with my writing, and the film industry, popular culture, ideas that are flowing from my head.... I just want it to be real. I want to provide something sincere.

So, please forgive past posts that really weren't worth the time. I hope that the good Lord will bless me, and turn my road in a direction that will provide plenty of "news".

P.S. As I promised, the amusing picture. I was making biscuits the other day, and I started kneading part of the dough. When I turn it over and pressed, the folds formed this:

pig biscuit

pig biscuit
And no, it wasn't on purpose. I folded and looked at the pig head and took a pic. Isn't this uncanny? So funny!
Well I certainly got a laugh out of this. What are the chances? ;D

  1. Dear Elora:
I LOVE Autumn...and I soooo love rain. I'm jealous. It hasn't rained here all year - but we are moving into seasons that promise rain for this valley. Yay for rain. Yay for Fall. Yay for simplifying life.
    Happy Rainy Day,

  2. No rain all year? Man! That's so sad. I'll pray you get plenty of rainy days! (Aren't they just perfect for curling up with a cup of cocoa and a black and white movie? Or a classic--like Gone With the Wind. Perfect). ;D

  3. New follower from the Friend Connect blog-hop! :) This picture made me LAUGH. I cannot wait to get ot know you & your blog a little better!

  4. Aw, thanks! I'm glad you liked the pic. I knew I had to share it--I mean, how often does a pig head show up in your biscuit dough? The closest I've come before is just the "pigs in a blanket" little smokies! It was funny. ;D Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope that you enjoy my blog.
