GPS-MyCity ~ Free Tour Walks of the City of Your Choice!

In Balboa Park, San Diego, CA

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

I have just been dying to travel to someplace new. I'm telling you I have the bug right now. There are so many places I want to see, especially Italy, France, England (mainly London, to see my British buddy), Africa (broad interest--I want to explore different regions. I have friends in South Africa, and Morocco. I've always had a great desire to explore Africa) and of course New Zealand. ANY nerd outdoor enthusiast and Lord of the Rings lover has to go to New Zealand. So when GPSmyCity recently reached out to me about running a promo for their app which provides guided tour walks for different cities around the world, I checked it out.

Coronado Beach

There are other places I really want to go back to. I'm desperate to see California again. I love Disneyland, in LA, but San Diego is the place I want to see most--I just fell in love with the whole city.  Balboa Park, Coronado Beach,  the zoo--I'm just dying to go back to shore, to the museums...I could explore Balboa Park all day. And I'd love to see The Youthful Diana at the Museum of Art. If I wanted one piece of art in the world, she would be it. People talk about the piece of art that gave them revelation into the true beauty of sculpture, etc. Well Diana by Anna Vaughn Hyatt Huntington is mine.  I just want to go back to the beach, bury my feet in the sand for a minute (and look for those weird red worms), enjoy the sun, and search for shells in the surf. I so miss San Diego.

Quad Cities, IA. Steamboat on the Mississippi in early morning.
I want to go back to the Quad Cities, explore my birthplace in Hannibal, (during the brief time the family drove through there I noticed that there were way too many Mark Twain references around. Sure I expected a decent amount but wow), take pictures of the old houses. I want to go back to LeClaire to visit family and go back to some places we checked out, like the chocolate shop for a definite example.
And I want to just stand by the riverside and look over the Mississippi.

Columbiana, Alabama. Best nature walks. ;)

And of course I want to go to Alabama, to see friends, explore Birmingham, hopefully see a movie set of the Erwin Brothers, do country stuff with buds. I haven't done a post on my trip there--it was before I even had a blog--but I like to say that that's where the rest of my family is. Friends become family.

GPSmyCity covers several pretty cool travel destinations. For this promo they're giving away free tours, to the city of your choice. You can view a full list here.

TO ENTER, all you have to do is go and like my Facebook Page Out My Front Door, and in a message, tell me the city you choose, and on what device (IOS or Android) you need it. You will then receive the code to the guided walk tour that you select (from the list provided previously) through a reply message, after I receive them from GPSmyCity. Keep in mind that these promo codes do expire after 4 weeks. This contest will run for 10 days, so make sure you get your entry in! Just go like my page, leave me a message, and we'll get the ball rolling!

Fingers crossed, I'm going to be somewhere new before too long.

    1. Oh you should definitely go see Coronado Beach sometime! It was just so incredibly beautiful. Just spending time there exploring the flower mounds--the whole landscape is just paradise.
