The Quad Cities, LeClaire Illinois~Day 2, Part 2, Antique Archeology

Here's a fun one! We visited Antique Archeology, the shop featured in the American Pickers show. It was really cool to be able to step into it, see everything, take pictures--I was so thrilled. Smaller than I expected, but it was so fascinating to see old victorian shoes, a hand chariot, a medicine kit, plane propellers and motorcycles (they have  penchant for them, and I appreciate that). Really awesome. For some reason some of my pictures were lost--I know there are certain shots I took, in the first shop (there were two) that we went into, like a red motorcycle, the hand chariot, a sailor's hat...leather jackets. I have no idea what happened to them. Such a pity, because I really wanted to show you the hand chariot. Hopefully I can go back someday.

The first giveaway in the upcoming Blog Run will be posted on Nov 24th, so make sure you mark the date. You'll be thrilled to see the prizes!

Without any more adieu, here are the pictures! Enjoy!

This was the only picture saved from the first shop, where things like that hand chariot was.

Interesting to see all those shoes, so old--they used to be used, they used to have the dust of the past century filling their crevices every day.

Oh, motorcycles...how I love them.

I love old popcorn machines!! There's something so fascinating and...I don't know...possibly romantic about them.

Hoped you guys enjoyed this! Antique Archeology is a really fascinating place. We were a bit disappointed not to see the Pickers there, but ah well. People rarely do apparently. ;)

Part 3 will be coming soon, covering our trip to Walnut Grove! (Which just might need a couple posts in itself--it was incredible).

  1. What a fun trip! I used to watch this show quite a bit, so it's interesting to see what their shop looks like. They seem to have a lot of quirky items, which I love! We went to the Gold and Silver Pawn store of Pawn Stars fame and it was a pretty interesting experience. We actually did see Chum Lee, as he made a brief appearance for pictures!

    1. That's cool! I've heard of Pawn Wars, but have never seen it. I'm always curious about whether people we see in shows are the same in person.
