Coronado Beach~California Trip

Okay, now if ANY of you have ever come home to almost 400 emails, I would LOVE for you to tell me that I'm not the only one! Because I've only just finished going through them this morning, and I've been home for several days already. AGH! So glad to have it under control now. And I had to go through my online email too—thankfully that had mostly posts from Writer's Digest. I just deleted them—I knew I would not be getting to them anytime soon. Sighhhh....

NOW—what I really wanted to share with you is my pictures! I had to borrow my sister's camera to upload my pictures last evening, and I only finished this morning. I stayed up til midnight trying to get them all done! (At least Sherlock and Doctor Who was there to entertain me, one with its clever comedy and the other...with its “can't take me seriously” comedy that was just plain amusing). As it wouldn't do to share almost two thousand photos on a blog post, (and some wouldn't even interest you as much as others), I will only show pictures from the road trip and the first day at the beach for now. It was so beautiful! After that I will tell you more about my plans, regarding my shop and this year!

Arizona. I was so thrilled to capture this landscape. Would make a good sketch study. So beautiful.

Our first trip to Coronado Beach:

The Coronado Bridge!

These grow over many mounds along the beach. Viewed from the sky, the mounds spell Coronado!

On the road there

The Coronado Hotel--apparently one of the most expensive places to stay in the world! I think even historic figures have stayed there...and yes, there was some road construction.

I love this picture of the ocean that I got!

Lovely hues! I love this picture!

Don't the mounds look just beautiful?

No idea what these are called, but they are lovely.

Next time I'll likely be sharing zoo pictures!!
Now to catch up with what's going on! Due to gas prices, I had lessened my driving practice over the last few months, but since it is entirely too little and random, I will be stepping it up. I hope to get my license by this fall, and to start looking around for some jobs. I really hope that my favorite library will take me on. I've known some of the people there for most of my life, and I'm pretty familiar with the library (although it keeps changing on me, making me get extra exercise when I had known where everything was only a month before). I think it'd be wonderful. Me, around books all day? Whoohoo! I have no intention of being one of the those “basement kids” when I'm thirty, and time goes by so fast—so I'm going to continue to work hard, making the best of my situation. Hopefully with getting a job, building my jewelry business, and writing...I will be able to move on with life. One good thing is that I have a good babysitting job for the summer, so that extra income should help with building my business, getting new items, etc.! Please keep me in your prayers, guys!

Okay, a random thing here I had to share this funny thing that happened yesterday. I went to Starbucks, to get myself a Mocha Cookie Crumble frappacino, and a Caramel Macchiato for my mom. When I got to the counter the girl asked if she could help me, then said, “Cocoa latte?” with a smile. I was like, “What?” And she pointed at my black and white shirt, which shows a city scene with a latte cup on it, with the words “Cocoa Latte” in glitter-stud words. I just had to laugh. Obviously, aside from being pretty, I got the shirt because it perfectly portrays my tendencies. And when I finished with my order, she said “Have a nice day, Miss Cocoa Latte!”
To be perfectly honest, I just thought it was so cute...and I thought that I just might start calling myself that here. My mom said it was perfectly suitable, as I am absolutely in love with chocolate, and yummy coffee. To say nothing of the fact that when I was little, mom would call me “Cocoa”! (Which I just loved)! So—Miss Cocoa Latte it is! I think I'll laugh every time I sign off!
Oh, and by the way, the Mocha Cookie Crumble frapp was DELISH. I told mom that if I ever get married, I hope my man's kiss tastes like that. ;)

So, til next Tuesday (unless I want to yammer before then, or I am late), Ciao!

~Miss Cocoa Latte
